Why is this medication prescribed?
Floxacin (Ciprofloxacin) is a prescription medicine used to treat the symptoms of bacterial infections. Ciprofloxacin may be used alone or with other medications. Ciprofloxacin belongs to a class of drugs called fluoroquinolones.
It is not known if Ciprofloxacin is safe and effective in children younger than 1 years of age.
